About Dominic
I entered politics to make a difference.
Over the next decade the choices we make will have a real impact on our county. Meath is a thriving community, but this Government has failed to provide the key public services to support us. For many people in Meath quality of life is an aspiration, not a fact. This has to change.
I want to see a decent health system for all, a better education for all children, safer streets and communities with more Gardaí and cheaper and better public transport to address the needs of all commuters.
The needs of older people, carers and people with disabilities and better supports for young people to get affordable housing are also key issues for me.
It is vital that schools, crèches, shops and recreational facilities are provided before new estates are occupied. Quality of life has to be at the heart of the planning process, not an afterthought.
I believe that we should assist hard working families and that is why I am delighted that my party is committed to reducing the standard rate of tax from 20% to 18% and will keep other taxes down. This will help low and middle income earners the most.
I am a Civil Engineer by profession and have a Master's Degree in Transport Planning. I have worked in the transport, health and communication sectors at home and abroad.
